My favorite book would have to be, 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher. I don't really read often so it is strange for me to have chosen a favorite book. I read this book about two years ago during summer, while I was involved in a summer reading program. I chose to read this book because a friend of mine had recommended that I read it. This book really sparked my interest because of the story line and how vivid all the mental images and feelings were. 13 Reasons Why, is about a girl who recorded a bunch of tapes right before she commits suicide. On the tapes she recorded, she explained her thirteen reasons for ending her life. The person who was given the tapes was instructed to listen to all the tapes on pass them on to the next person. If they did not, there were consequences they would face if they hadn't followed the rules. The girl had made a second set of tapes to be put out publicly if someone discontinued passing them on. The tapes explained how she felt, what she went through as well as the people she went through it with. I really enjoy books like this because the story line really keeps you on your toes and intrigues you to continue reading until the very last page. At the time when I read the book, I had been a pretty depressed person myself so, I really felt that this book spoke to me. I would recommend everyone to read this book at least once, especially young teens!
