So the Big Question is?

When speaking about a subject like such, my opinion sways both ways.
Should government provide childcare to working parents? I think yes!
Too often do I see parents, young and old, working their behinds off for a minimum wage paycheck.
That paycheck is then almost cut in half due to their child's day care fees. I think hardworking parents should receive some kind of assistance when it comes to ensuring their children are okay. When people are attending work, to pay their bills, I believe they should be given the assurance that their children are taken care of. Unfortunately, there days children are often left unattended at home while their parents are working. This is because of how expensive daycare/preschool has become. I believe that is the government can supply welfare and other assistance to those that need it, they should also be able to supply childcare as well. These days, having a job is mandatory though even when you do, you are probably still struggling in our economy. I think we would have more people working than living off of government assistance. if they had help caring for their children while they worked. If people are spending nearly their whole paycheck on daycare, then what would be the point in working in the first place? That is basically paying for somebody to watch your children, when you might as well just do it yourself for how expensive it has become. I think the daycare/preschool fees should run off of the parents income. If a person make a lot of money, meaning they could afford it, then they should get little assistance. A person who doesn't make as much money, who can't really afford it, should receive more assistance. I think if the government provided childcare to working parents, it would be very beneficial to many people.

I value you because...

I value many things in life. I don’t take things for granted because before you know it, their gone. I’m not one to settle for less than I deserve, I’d rather wait for something better than receive instant gratitude. I look for things in life that make me happy, instead of dwelling upon things that make me sad or mad. For me, most of the time, it’s the little things in life that mean the most. I value small things like, a warm sunny day, or a simple smile or compliment from a stranger. I think our attitudes have a lot to do with who we are, as well as the people who influence us. I didn’t always have the best influences, or role models, especially growing up. I’ve seen, heard, witnessed many things I probably shouldn’t have and because of all I’ve been through, It has made me into the incredibly smart, intuitive person that I am today. Lately, I’ve struggled very much with things that should come easily to most people, because of the things that were holding me back. I’ve recently eliminated those factors ultimately to benefit me and those around me. I have a few people to thank for that, who are also to thank for how well I’ve been doing.  First off I would like to thank my best friend. My best friend is probably the strongest, creative and utmost incredible person I’ve ever met. My best friend can force a smile on his face, even when everything is going terribly wrong. My best friend is the most inspiring person, yet he has a problem finding that inspiration in himself. He’s my partner in crime. I value my best friend because he is always there for me, every step of the way, whether it be encouragement or just someone to talk to at the end of the day. Thank you, Taylor. Secondly, I want to thank god for the wonderful relationship I have today, not only with him, but with my boyfriend. Sure, it sounds silly. Some teenage girl writing an essay about her boyfriend, or as some say a “pointless high school relationship” call it what you may, but its so much more than that. My boyfriend has given me more than anyone has ever given me. My boyfriend provides me with my home, my clothes, my ride to/from school each day, each meal I eat and so much more. My boyfriend and his family does more for me than my family has ever even thought about doing. My boyfriend inspires me to be a better person each and every day. My boyfriend is the reason I can wake up safely each morning with a smile on my face. If only you could see all of this from my point of view, I’m sure you’d understand. Even if this isn’t something that’s going to last, at least I can say it happened. Right now, without my boyfriend’s help, for all that he’s done recently, I’m not sure where’d I’d be. It surely wouldn’t be in Early College. Recently I've gained responsibility, trust, love, lust and an actual family. I value my boyfriend because he’s not only my boyfriend, he’s my inspiration, my family, my partner in crime, and most importantly my best friend.
Thank You Taylor.

Summer 2012

I did a lot of pretty cool things over summer break! I had a lot of fun, took a lot of risks, got into a little trouble, but I enjoyed every minute of it! One thing I really enjoyed this summer was when we threw Dennis a birthday party. Dennis is like a father to me, not only a father figure, but also a best friend. He does more for me than my actual parents, and I know I can go to him about almost anything. I met Dennis late last year, through my boyfriend, who is his son. Anyhow, this year Dennis turned 36 so Taylor and I threw a birthday party to celebrate. For the most part, the party was a success and a lot of fun for everyone. There was a ton of food, drinks, and many great friends and family.  My parents, along with my brother even made an appearance. My brother also had a friend tag along with him who was visiting from Australia for two weeks! His name was Shane and he was such a cool person! I learned a lot from him and we showed him a lot of American customs as well! With all of us being the great friends that we were, we all wrestled around, throwing each other into the pool. Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky ones who got forcefully thrown in.We all enjoyed ourselves, listened to music, ate great food, sat by the fire and just had endless fun! Later that night, the adults went out, though I'm sure they had fun then too. Taylor and I stayed home, cleaned up, watched movies, and just relaxed until everyone got home. Eventually, everyone did come home, so we then went night swimming. By the time we were ready for bed, I was beyond exhausted! It was a great end to a great day! Besides, you can't help but love spending time with you people that mean most to you. <3

My Name

Chasity

My name isn’t the most common name nor is it very rare.
My name was given to me without any reason or a care.
My name has a great virtue, as used by puritans long ago,
My name symbolizes purity, innocence, and hope.
My name originated as a Latin-American name,
Makes me wonder how it made it here, could it be bane?
When I think or hear about my name, I often feel like a buffoon,
I can’t wait till the day I can change it, for it is still too soon!
I often hear about how I should appreciate my name, for it is precious,
Every time this happens I can’t help acting a little rambunctious.
As you can see my name doesn’t mean too much to me,
Though, it has great meaning behind it.
I wonder who/where or how I would be, if my name were different,
I think my personality that I have today would probably seem absent.

Number One Rule

People often set expectations, or have morals which they choose to live up to. Most people, especially if you’re like me, plan to be successful. In order to be successful, you have to make good choices, you have to put in the time, you need not to procrastinate, and you must have determination. Though, none of that will work unless you have rules for yourself. It’s important to keep yourself grounded. It’s one things for your parents, teachers, and friends to have rules for you, another to have rules for yourself. Nothing will really work for you unless in your heart you’re determined to get it done. I have plenty of rules for myself, as well as many expectations I feel that I should live up to. My biggest rule would probably have to be staying true to myself. In order to stay true to yourself, you have to stick to the things you believe in. You have to vow to never let anyone change you. In my case it means being the best person I can possibly be. Staying true to myself means, I wouldn’t do anything that isn’t “me.” I need to always do things to benefit and better myself all together. I have a plan for myself to be very successful, not just in school but in life overall. Only I can decide my future, only I can make it happen. Its up to me to make sure that I stay true to myself and not let any obstacle big or small get in my way. My number 1 rule, is staying true to myself.
